The problem with that is that non-straight people can only opt for language used by those that used derogatory language. Queer means strange, and yet, males of same-sex interest proclaim they are reclaiming a word they never had to themselves. They are claiming a word that means “Odd, Strange” to represent who (not what) they are. I can’t stand the word “Queer” for them. Homophobic people are queer. And that is a pure fact.
