Ok James Finn, I understand your mindset over what happened; in terms of the reaction, but only to a degree. This is why. Take a step back and think about this: There are no Progressive Christians. That is an oxymoron. Christians self-identify with the bible and what their leaders tell them. That’s how so much hate for anything not white, straight, and male started in the first place; religion. Christianity may not have started it all, but it sure as shit exacerbated it; forcing it to be the way of the USA and other nations with their Evangelicals and such. They are Progressive in that they may vote for Bernie Sanders, and that’s it. Nothing more or less. They are not Progressive, because and religious person who actually becomes progressive, would leave their religion; not really the belief of god, but certainly their religion. I did not have to read the whole thing. When you said, “Progressive Christian” I lowered my head in sorrow for your kind-mindedness and positive hope; knowing it would get shattered like a cheap vase during Running-of-the-Bulls. My suggestion, stop hoping with religious people. If they come out of the bubble of hate and fear, it will be on their own. There’s so much projection in them saying you’re broken an immoral is a factual shame on them. Take care, and do what you can to stay away from the religious. It’s not healthy for them, and destructive for you.
